‘Resolution’‭ ‬often refers to the metric that defines the finiteness of an image‭. ‬In this respect‭, ‬it pries into that technological urge‭, ‬even obsession‭, ‬for increasing precision‭, ‬one which nears the infinite‭ - ‬infinite pixels‭, ‬an ability to see infinitely‭. ‬It is no coincidence that it is simultaneously a form of determination‭. ‬One‭ ‬‘resolves’‭ ‬to move beyond‭, ‬to enhance the image and find more in it‭,  ‬to determine what exists between this pixel and that‭. ‬This determinedness is expressive of the urge to‭ ‬‘clear‭,‬’‭ ‬to find additional clarity‭. ‬

The idea that one level of resolution might be eclipsed by the next evolution of the technological toolness‭, ‬is at the very heart of that which already pervades our digital experience‭: ‬‘anti-aliasing‭.‬’
